Photography in the Yellowstone Ecosystem is WOW!! From the Professional Photographer to the weekend Photographer, who wishes to be pointed in the right direction, for the Best Places with the Best Lighting. We are the Center of the Region.
We first built Our Cabins for Photographic Expeditions into the Yellowstone and the Tetons. I have since retired from doing the Work-Shops into the Yellowstone Ecosystem and started our Bed and Breakfast. I know the region and when to be there, to make the most of your time, so you can get the most shooting out of your day.
This area has some of the most Spectacular Land Scape in the World. The Sites and Versatility of this Region are Endless and Breath Taking, from Wildflowers to Waterfalls, Wildlife and the Scenary around you.
The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is a Haven, where you can Photograph year in and year out with Fantastic results and Subject matter. Spring (end of June) Spring Wildflowers start to blanket the bight green meadows.(this makes for magnificent nature and macro work.) This vast array of Wildflowers are right outside your door. The freshness of new growth also brings along newborn wildlife, such as Bison, Moose and Elk Calves. The Tetons still have their Snow Caps, while fresh green foliage appears at the base. With freshly melted snow, Waterfalls are at their peak of flow and beauty. The regular tourist traffic has not yet begun to arrive, to see the Yellowstone Ecosystem. Summer (July & August) During this time of year the Wildflowers will continue to bloom throughout the Summer. The Elk and Moose are "in Velvet", and are looking very healthy from all the lush food that is available. The Trumpeter Swans are leading the Young to the water and the Mountain Blue Birds have now returned to the Yellowstone Ecosystem. Fall (Austust & September) This is a Fabulous time of year. Throughout the entire Yellowstone Ecosystem there are changes taking place. Cold crisp morings are starting to come into play, forcing the Aspens to start their voyage from metallic green to their golden fall glow. Warn earth tones of brown, yellow and reds are starting to blanket the forest ground, making the Tetons a fantastic backdrop. The Wildlife are at their best, with their heavy winter coats and the Bull Elk and Moose rubbing off the velvet from their racks to make them shine and sharpening the tips to make ready for combat as they pick their females. At this time of year the Bull Elk and Moose are more visible and aggressive, because they are in Rutt, then any other time of the year.
Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year. June and September are a Photographers dream, with versatility and light. Plus Yellowstone Park is not overly crowded with people, but are with new live and color.
